The Tank Museum brings history to life, with the world’s best collection of tanks and explosive live displays.

Exploring eight powerful exhibitions, you will come face to face with almost 300 armoured vehicles. This unique collection is regarded as the finest in the world - and includes the world’s first ever tank, the feared German Tiger and the modern Challenger 2.

“The Tank Story” details tank history from its birth in 1915 to the present in a modern exhibition. “Battlegroup Afghanistan” transports you to today’s front line as combat veterans give on-screen accounts of service alongside the vehicles used on operations today. In “The Discovery Centre” and “Vehicle Conservation Centre” you’ll see the breadth of our vehicle collections.

Marking the centenary of the First World War “The Trench Experience” takes you back in time to the trenches in 1916 while "Tank Men" celebrates the first tank crews. “Warhorse to Horsepower” examines the rise of the tank and the demise of the cavalry in the mud of the Western Front.

“Tank Factory” explores the making and makers of tanks and don’t miss our “Fury” exhibition, which uncovers the Museum’s involvement in the making of the film.

NEW FOR 2017 - The Tiger Collection: The Tanks, The Terror and The Truth. In a world first, The Tank Museum is planning an exhibition that will bring every member of the Tiger Tank family together in one display. Opens in April 2017.

Experience the best display of historic moving armour in the world at TANKFEST, held at the Museum on the last weekend in June. This yearly event offers something for all the family with a variety of displays and entertainment bringing the story of tanks, tank crew and soldiers to life.

As well as our themed family activities and Tanks in Action Displays during the school holidays, visitors can also enjoy a variety of free talks and tours every day.

Your admission ticket also includes an annual pass, which means you can return as many times as you like in a year!*.

It’s guaranteed to stop you in your tracks!
