BSO: September Classics
When? 21 September 2019
Where? New Forest
Beauty captured through music has never been clearer than in this selection of three phenomenal classics from Mendelssohn and Haydn.
Influenced by a myriad of magical stories and stunning surroundings, these two composers succeeded in preserving beautiful images through orchestral works. The BSO are proud to present you with Haydn’s Symphony No. 6 and a double-bill of Mendelssohn’s Symphony No. 4 and Midsummer Night’s Dream Suite.
Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, Classic FM’s Orchestra in the South of England, present an evening of vivid and enigmatic classical hits. From Mendelssohn’s Shakespeare-inspired Midsummer Night’s Dream Suite to Haydn’s portrait of a sunrise in his Symphony No. 6 (commonly dubbed ‘Le Matin’ for this reason), this evening provides sights unseen through the work of a world-class orchestra, conducted by the BSO’s Young Conductor in Association Marta Gardolińska. As the Summer draws to a close and we prepare for the changing of the seasons, allow the BSO to take you somewhere new.
Venue: St Thomas' Church, Lymington.
