Dvorák Symphony No.9 “From the New World”
Young Conductor in Association
Sonoko Miriam Welde violin
Enjoy a taste of the best-loved music in the orchestral repertoire with the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra. Brahms’ Tragic Overture has become one of the greatest examples of tragedy in Romantic Music. Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto takes the audience on a journey from darkness to light, leaving mystery and exhilaration in its wake. It is performed here by astonishing Norwegian-Japanese violinist Sonoko Miriam Welde. A recording of the ever-popular New World Symphony was taken to the moon by Neil Armstrong, which perfectly reflects its message of hope and rebirth, portrayed in beautiful and world-famous melodies.
