Dorset Goes Vintage

Shake & Stir Fest - Oak Photography.

From cycling in your finest tweed to cruising in a Cadillac, learning to Lindy Hop, to jumping and jiving to the best bands around, lovers of vintage can rejoice at the selection of upcoming events in Dorset that’ll get you rockin’ and rollin’. So comb that quiff, perfect that pin-up look, and don your dancing shoes – these vintage-themed events are ready to transport you to some yesteryear fun.

Shake & Stir it in Southbourne on 28th – 29th June as you swing, jump, jive and rock ‘n’ roll to the sound of live music over the weekend of this award-winning festival. After scooping Gold in the 2024 Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole for ‘Event of the Year’, the event looks set to have even more on offer in 2025 – more music, more entertainment, more food, more fashion, more… everything! You’ll find entertainment from the Upbeat Beatles, The Satin Dollz and The Aphrodites Singers, to name but a few, as this Dorset-based family-friendly festival makes you realise you were Bourne to rock and roll.

On 13 July, Poole Goes Vintage takes place along Old Orchard and around the High Street. You’ll find a fantastic selection of live music and DJs to get you dancing. With Poole as the stunning backdrop, expect to see classic vehicles, stalls with vintage fashion, memorabilia, workshops and more. The music will be a big part of the day, and from 11am to 6pm, you can listen to the sounds of The Land Girls, Dave Norell – Mr D!, Fifinellas Swing Band, Amy Baker, and many more acts. Poole Goes Vintage aims to be bigger and better than ever and is a date not to be missed in any retro-lover's diary.

Set against the rolling countryside of Wimborne, this boutique festival (15th–17th August) brings together retro rides, toe-tapping live music, and family frolics beside the River Stour.

Expect gleaming VWs and vintage Porsches, a jolly good bicycle ride ending in a cream tea, market stalls bursting with treasures, and a spot of riverside relaxation. Whether you’re glamping under the stars or just popping by for the day, it’s a weekend steeped in nostalgia.

Polish your camper, don your glad rags, and join the merriment—Vdub at the Pub is vintage fun at its finest.
