Celebrating the 2025 BCP Tourism Awards

Last week marked the finalist night of the Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole (BCP) Tourism Awards, organised by the Destination Management Board, and what a night it was.
As first-time sponsors, Resort Dorset was proud to support this glittering celebration of the region’s thriving tourism and hospitality community. Supporting local tourism is something we’re passionate about; it’s a natural extension of what we do. Through our visitor magazine, we love helping readers discover Dorset’s hidden gems, best attractions and natural wonders, taking them on a journey of exploration around this incredible county. Sponsoring the Industry Support for Tourism category felt like the perfect fit.
The awards evening took place at the Bournemouth Hilton Hotel, an elegant venue close to the seafront and shops, the perfect backdrop for a night of celebration. The event space was stunning, and the atmosphere electric. Guests enjoyed arrival drinks courtesy of fellow sponsors Tolchards (thank you!) with the room buzzing with laughter, conversation, clinking glasses and camera flashes. We soon found ourselves among new friends, all united by a shared love of Dorset’s tourism scene. With delicious food, wine, live music and great company, the evening set the stage for an unforgettable celebration.
Celebrating Our Local Attractions
Among the standout categories was Attraction of the Year.
- Gold went to RockReef, the thrilling indoor activity attraction on Bournemouth Pier, where visitors can scale climbing walls, brave the vertical slide, or take the ultimate leap of faith.
- Silver was awarded to Moors Valley Country Park, a family favourite all year round, from crisp autumn walks to fun-filled outdoor adventures for all ages (and four-legged friends too).
- Bronze went to Shaka Surf, Dorset’s only Surfing England accredited surf school, offering top-quality lessons and adventures on the water.
- A Highly Commended award went to South Coast Karting, home to Bournemouth’s longest and fastest go-kart track, where high adrenaline and happy faces are guaranteed.

Industry Support for Tourism
As sponsors of the Industry Support for Tourism category, we were thrilled to celebrate businesses that work tirelessly behind the scenes to strengthen our region’s tourism network.
Gold went to Event Temps, led by Dominique Wallace, a truly deserving win for a company renowned for its professionalism and expertise in providing staffing solutions for event organisers.
Silver was awarded to Harvest Fine Foods, whose commitment to supplying fantastic local produce and great value for hospitality venues across BCP has made them a trusted industry partner.
Bronze went to Marsham Court Hotel, the family-run Bournemouth hotel headed by siblings Rosie and James, who go above and beyond to support the local tourism community.
Highly Commended was presented to Bournemouth University Business School, accredited among the top 6% of business schools worldwide and recognised as a hub of research and academic excellence across business, finance, tourism, hospitality and events.
These awards celebrate the continued commitment of these outstanding organisations to strengthening and supporting the tourism industry that keeps our region thriving.
Contribution to BCP Tourism
Another highlight of the evening was seeing Des Simmons awarded Gold in the Contribution to BCP Tourism category.
Des’s impact reaches well beyond his own business (Bournecoast Holidays), with over two decades of voluntary and leadership roles dedicated to strengthening the region’s tourism landscape for businesses, residents and visitors alike. His ongoing commitment to collaboration and promoting Dorset as a premier destination has been instrumental in shaping the area’s tourism success. A truly fitting award to recognise his contribution.

Looking Ahead
At Resort Dorset, we remain dedicated to championing the people and businesses that make our region shine, and we're planning on bringing out the best-ever Resort Dorset magazine for 2026 - watch this space!
Congratulations once again to all the winners and finalists; your hard work, innovation and passion are what make Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole such an extraordinary place to visit, stay and explore.
