Wimborne Model Town

King Street, Wimborne, Dorset, BH21 1DY

Visit Wimborne in miniature! Wimborne's own Model Town was built in 1952 at 1/10th scale, and it celebrated it's 70th anniversary in 2022. There are over 100 shop fronts to peek in, selling everything the 1950's household needed. The Minster is busy with hourly weddings, as Quarterjack chimes the hour on the church tower. Listen out for the phone ringing in the telephone box, and the public toilets flushing!
Not content with a miniature town, we also have the Model of the Model, at 1/100th scale, intricately painted. How did they do that?
In 2023, we replanted the Sensory Garden and added chimes, drums and a rainwheel for children of all ages to make their own Sensory Music.
Travel back in time to a Life Before Lego and discover the history of British building toys. Or drive a train (or a cliff railway, or an air balloon!) in our Railway Shed.
The Wareham Bears made the move to Wimborne and work, rest and play in their new home. You can also wonder at the lovingly restored Doll's Houses in the Beryl Dade collection, built in 1/12th scale, where every miniature dwelling has its own story to tell.
Younger children will enjoy visiting the Wendy Street play area, with play houses, a slide and play train.
Our tea room serves scrumptious home made cakes, teas and coffee, as well as light lunches. You can eat inside, or in the NGS lsited gardens and enjoy the sights.
There is something for everyone at Wimborne Model Town. Step back in time and enjoy life in the 1950s.
We are open daily from 5th April until 2nd November, from 10 am until 5 pm.
Tickets cost £12 for adults and £7 for children, with a family ticket costing £34. ALL TICKETS ARE VALID FOR 12 MONTHS FROM THE DATE OF PURCHASE. Simply show us your original ticket (no photocopies or laminated tickets!) at the entry.
We look forward to seeing you!
