Medieval and modern horsepower are coming together this summer to bring two spectacular acts to the Gillingham and Shaftesbury Show on 13th and 14th August.

Making its first ever appearance in Dorset, one of the country’s most thrilling theatrical horse show spectaculars will thrill visitors with mounted medieval knights battling against each other in an incredible jousting tournament.
The Knights of Albion have rapidly established themselves as one of the UK's premier jousting teams. With breathtaking jousting displays, original storylines, movie-quality armour paired with vibrant costumes, it promises to be an unforgettable experience.
Tom Armstrong-Frost from Outlaw Entertainments who runs the spectacular in between working in TV and film as a stunt rider said, “Our performances feature a talented ensemble of professional stunt riders, jousters, acrobats, musicians, and performers, all accompanied by our stunning trick-trained horses.

There’s lots of opportunities for the public to get involved, cheer on their favourite knight and even meet the heroes and villains of the plot with their trusty steeds afterwards.”
If that’s not enough excitement, the Gillingham and Shaftesbury Show has announced a second main arena act. Modern horsepower will take centre stage as the incredible Tigers Motorcycle Display Team roar into the arena.
Featuring children from aged five up to sixteen years old, this extraordinary squad of stunt riders is like no other. Watch these young daredevils jump through fire, negotiate tricky chicanes at top-speed and thrill with some incredible formation riding.
Cat Harris, Gillingham and Shaftesbury Show Organiser commented: “We are so excited to be bringing these two incredible acts to the main ring this year. Visitors of all ages are going to love the thrills, speed and daring stunts.”
Visitors to the two-day show can also enjoy livestock parades, agricultural and countryside exhibits, equestrian events, vintage machinery and cars, charming steam engines, live bands, a funfair and many other rural displays.

The renowned Gillingham & Shaftesbury Show raises funds for the Gillingham & Shaftesbury Agricultural Society to help support farming and the countryside. It takes place at the Turnpike Showground in Motcombe, Dorset, SP7 9PL

The Show welcomes dogs on leads. Mobility scooters are available for hire on the day. Free parking and lots of picnic areas.
