Our Spring Steam Gala will return between Friday the 27th and Sunday the 29th of March, an event which always proves to be popular with enthusiasts and families alike!
Our Steam Galas are the best way to see and travel behind our home fleet of steam locomotives, along with a surprise visitor or two... Whilst the full locomotive lineup is still currently under wraps, rest assured that our Gala Committee are hard at work to make sure that we have an exciting combination of both resident and guests in action across the 3 day event.
You can expect to see and enjoy all of the typical sights from our previous events, such as an interesting event timetable which features services from Swanage all the way to the River Frome on our "extension" towards Worgret Junction, on site catering as well as facilities on our trains to keep you fed and watered, as well as trade stands at Swanage Station.

Catch a Crab
Crabbing is brilliant traditional family fun; you can spend hours sat on a harbour wall, ice cream in one hand, crabbing net in the other. Where are the best places to catch those crabs?
