Wimborne Green Festival

When? 19 Oct 2019 to 26 Oct 2019
Where? Wimborne

  • Wimborne Green Festival

Whether you fancy apple pressing, upcycling jewellery, guided nature walks, supporting sustainable initiatives, finding out about reducing food waste and single-use plastic – then Wimborne is the place to be between the 19th and 26th of October.

Local community and church groups have joined forces to organise the first town-wide ‘Green Festival’ – a week of engaging environment-themed activities to be held in a variety of venues. Supported by Dorset Council and Wimborne BID, the Festival will celebrate environmental achievements in the town, enable local businesses to raise the profile of ethical products and services, and encourage and equip us all to care for the planet more effectively.

There’ll be plenty of resources available to help us be more environmentally friendly – and there’ll be plenty of fun too: Ready Steady Cook’s Lesley Waters working magic with supermarket food that would have been thrown out; an Eco Fair in the Allendale; music and crafts in the Minster; storytelling at the Model Town; apple pressing on the Minster Green; a new Repair Café being launched; Boomerang Bag making... You name it, the Wimborne Green Festival has it!

Keep a lookout for the full Festival programme on the website below, which will shortly be available, giving event dates, times and, where appropriate, booking details.
