SEN Santa Experience at Wimborne
When? 04 December 2025
Where? Wimborne
The multi-award-winning Museum of East Dorset is bringing festive cheer to families this December with special Story Time sessions with Father Christmas - a heartwarming experience set in the museum’s cosy grotto, where little ones can enjoy enchanting tales, festive crafts and a special gift to take home.
Children will be welcomed into a magical world where Father Christmas shares his favourite seasonal stories. Each session includes story time in the grotto, a photo opportunity with Father Christmas, a chance to choose a special gift, festive crafts, including writing a letter to the big man himself.
Tickets are £15 per child, which includes full-day museum entry, all craft activities, the grotto visit and a take-home gift. After your visit, families can unwind in the museum Tearoom with a selection of festive treats and warming drinks (extra charges apply).
In response to community feedback and the success of last year, the museum is proud to run SEN Santa visits - gentle, sensory-aware sessions designed for children with special educational needs.
These quieter experiences offer reduced visitor numbers, calmer lighting and sound - all in a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. These take place on Thursday 4th December.
All profits from these festive events go directly towards supporting the museum’s ongoing work in preserving and celebrating local heritage.
