Bridport Market

12 March 2025

Bridport's Historic Street Market

One of our favourite weekend treats is a visit to the fabulous year-round Bridport Market, which runs on Wednesday and Saturdays, the latter being the busier of the two days.

Bridport Market

Stalls offer a mix of everything and anything, with furniture, antiques, collectables, toys, chocolate brownies, vinyl records, local prints, vintage fashion, socks, walking sticks, organic fruit and vegetables, macramé, rugs, hand-made goods, cheese, local fish, we could go on!

Bridport Market Days

The market takes place on Wednesday and Saturday with stalls in three streets; and on the last Sunday of the month (March – October) the Art & Vintage Quarter at St Michael's Trading Estate hosts The Bridport Vintage Market. Expect the unexpected, and delve into the past!

Bridport is a town with few empty shops: you’ll find some national chains such as Fat Face, Mountain Warehouse, Boots, The Works etc, and these are complemented by many independent stores that take pride in offering customers something a bit different. Womenswear, men’s outfitters, book shops, toys, and even a fabulous hat shop can be found here.

Maybe you’ll want coffee – if so, follow the locals and head to Soulshine, The Green Yard, or Gelateria Beppino – leave some almond biscuits for us please! Be sure to seek out Dorshi for incredible dumplings; for lunch time tipples - the Tiger Inn or the multi award-winning The Woodman (be warned - you won't want to leave either), or Brassica Forna for some delicious bites to go.

Coffee at Bridport Market

Go for breakfast, and hey, why not stay for lunch as the foodie scene is incredible. Don’t overlook this remarkable town as it offers so much; see you there!

Useful things to know about Bridport Market

The market runs in Bridport from 8am until mid afternoon.

There are a number of car parks which can get busy on market days at peak times. Alternatively why not head to Bridport Market by bus, see local routes here.

Public toilets can be found at both South Street car park and Tannery Road (West Street car park).

The Bridport Tourist Information Centre can be found at Buckydoo Square, South Street, and is open all year. The team are very helpful, do visit them for more information on the area and book tickets for local events.

The Bridport Vintage Market runs on the last Sunday of the month, at St Michael's Trading Estate. If you love all things retro then you wont want to miss this shopping experience.
