Dorset's Farm & Foodie Shops

25 November 2025

Your guide to the best places for local produce, gifts & foodie treats this season

Dorset is blessed with a wonderful selection of farm shops, perfect for festive food shopping, hamper goodies, stocking fillers and seasonal treats. Whether you’re hunting for award-winning local meats, artisan bakes, unique gifts or simply a great place to stop for a cosy coffee, these farm shops are well worth a visit this Christmas.

Below is our hand-picked guide to Dorset’s festive farm shops.

Bere Farm Shop, Lytchett Matravers

One of Dorset’s newest farm shops, and a delightful addition! Expect colourful homeware, dried flowers, stylish gifts, funky candles, glassware and plenty of foodie favourites including chutneys, jams, chilli sauces and snacks. Fresh vegetables and meats are on the way as they settle in. It sits right next to the popular Barn Café, making it an easy stop for festive browsing and lunch.

Craig’s Farm Dairy, Osmington

A firm favourite for their delicious ice cream (don’t miss the mint choc chip!), Craig’s also offers a lovely tea room, hamper treats and the famously good Dorset Cream Tea - always cream first! They supply Resort HQ with fresh milk too, so we have a soft spot for them.

Ducks Farm Shop, Portesham

A great stop for a light lunch and local shopping. Ducks offers quality vegetables, local meats, baked goods and everyday essentials. If you’re staying for food, the beef & stilton pasty and the bacon & brie jacket potato come highly recommended - though perhaps not together!

Felicity’s Farm Shop, A35 between Bridport & Charmouth

A huge choice of fresh produce, gifts and home-baked treats. Perfect for stocking hampers with jams, chutneys and baked goodies. Grab a coffee and bacon roll while enjoying fabulous countryside views.

Modbury Farm Shop, Burton Bradstock

A little off the beaten track but absolutely worth the journey. Packed with top-quality produce and the place to head for your festive table’s centrepiece. This farm shop prides itself on it's lensomy lifestyle (Lensomy is an old Sanskrit word meaning unconditional love, everything stocked is well-loved). A proper rustic gem.

Pamphill Dairy, Wimborne

More than just a farm shop, it’s a foodie destination. With its own butcher, bakery, fresh vegetables, artisan goods and even a milk-vending machine, Pamphill is buzzing with local goodness. Their ice cream, made on site, is a must-try whatever the weather.

Rise Market & Bakery, Bridport

No visit to Bridport is complete without a stop at Rise. Known for incredible sourdough, rustic baguettes, doorstep sandwiches, Portuguese tarts and cruffins (if you’re lucky!). The shop is beautifully curated with quality meats, local wines, sauces, fresh produce and gifts. A real treat for food lovers.

Salt Pig – Multiple Dorset Locations

The Salt Pig began in Wareham in 2008 and has grown into a much-loved local business, with multiple outlets. The Wareham and Swanage sites offer the full experience, including proper butchery counter and a fresh fish selection, showcasing some of the best pork and local produce in Dorset. Their other locations are more café or coffee-stop style, and there is even a soft play at Putlake Farm! You're guaranteed to be served great local food in relaxed settings. They also offer excellent meat boxes for festive feasting from their website. Take a look.

The Udder Farm Shop, East Stour (North Dorset)

“Udderly brilliant” is no exaggeration. Expect one of the largest farm shop butchery counters in the county, packed with local meats, many from their own farm. Cheese lovers are in for a treat with around 80 varieties to choose from. Add a bottle from their impressive wine selection, and you’ve got yourself the perfect Christmas cheeseboard.

Washingpool Farm Shop, Bridport

Bridport Farm Shop

A long-standing favourite offering beautiful fresh vegetables, excellent local meats and a popular café. Plenty of parking makes this an easy festive stop for stocking up on the essentials (and a slice of cake), be sure to give them a visit.

We know this isn’t the full list of Dorset’s fine and fabulous farm shops, and the county is brimming with wonderful independent foodie shops. If we’ve missed your favourite, do give us a gentle nudge and we’d be delighted to add it!
