Poole Park Railway to Re-launch

11 July 2017

The Friends of Poole Park are delighted to announce that they will be re-launching the iconic Poole Park Railway this summer.

Date:                Saturday 22nd July 2017

Time:                10:00 – 17:00

Location:          Poole Park Railway Station

Having recently won the tender from Borough of Poole Council to operate the train for the next 30 years, the charity has been working hard to refurbish the Station, Engine Shed and Train Track.  Rolling stock has also been purchased and a new diesel train will be operational on loan from Hastings Miniature Railway whilst the new stream train undergoes build.

All the renovation works have been being carried out by volunteers who share enthusiasm about restoring the railway, which began operations in 1949 and has run continuously under private ownership up until November, 2016.
