WIMBORNE PLEIN AIR – SATURDAY 4TH MAY 2024
You are invited to our beautiful town of Wimborne in Dorset, for a friendly and engaging plein air event. Welcoming both professional and amateur artists. You will have the opportunity to create a painting or drawing and be in with a chance of winning great prizes along with other artists from across the UK. Judged by our prestigious judges Maria Rose and Tom Stevenson, members of 'The Royal Institue of Oil Painters' and British Plein Air Painters.



The painting area encompasses some of Wimborne's most picturesque landscapes, featuring the majestic towers of Wimborne Minster, charming gardens, meandering town centre lanes, historic structures, and open countryside just a short stroll away offering numerous captivating views to discover.

Entry: Professional and amateur £20 per ticket /Youth 14-18 year olds £5 per person.



Exhibition open to the public: Sunday 5th May and Monday 6th May

The wet paint (selling) exhibition is open to the public from 10am - 4pm.



Details

The central hub for the event will be located in the town centre, serving as the focal point for registration, art demonstrations, and on-site art supplies, (only a small selection of art materials).
Ticket sales close on Monday 15th April, only advance ticket sales.
Turn up with your blank board/ canvas and your kit at the event hub in the time slot you will be given in your pre-event email. Register your attendance, get your canvas stamped and numbered on the reverse.*A coloured ground will be allowed on the board/ canvas.
You will be given a goody bag which will include a map of painting locations and town information.
Spend the day creating your masterpiece at your chosen location.
Deliver your work back to the hub anytime from 2pm but by the very latest 3.30pm.
If you would like to sell your work, please tell us the price when you hand it back in. Commissions of 30% will be deducted during the Private View and exhibition. All work for sale will need a frame, please bring along a frame to fit your canvas.
Judging will take place between 4-5pm.
Private view and awards ceremony will take place at 6pm.
Paintings will be available to buy at the private view.
The selling exhibition is then open to the public for all to enjoy Sunday - Monday, 10am - 4pm.
There are 200 tickets available for this event and they need to be purchased in advance. Ticket sales will close on Monday 15th April.
