Corfe Castle is one of the most iconic ruined castles in England and for centuries it controlled the gateway through the Purbeck hills. Built by William the Conqueror in the 11th century, it is steeped in history and offers breathtaking views. It's partial destruction during the English Civil War in 1646 marked the end of its story as a fortress, family home and royal residence.

There is an exciting programme of family events throughout the year, on weekends and school holidays.

The castle, shop and tea-room are open daily from 10am.
