Outdoor Theatre: The Importance of being Earnest
When? 11 July 2024
Where? Christchurch
Join us at Highcliffe Castle for Theatre Thursdays…
The Pantaloons present The Importance of being Earnest.
Everybody loves Earnest. In fact, Cecily and Gwendolen are both engaged to Earnest. The only trouble is, he doesn’t exist. Or does he…?
Best friends Jack and Algy have both created alter-egos to win the affections of their beloveds; but when will they stop being Earnest and start being, well, earnest?
Wilde’s comic masterpiece gets The Pantaloons’ treatment in their anarchic take on the classic comedy of manners. This energetic and musical production from the critically-acclaimed company infuses Wilde’s witty words with snappy new songs and frantically funny physical theatre to give this perennially popular play a hilarious contemporary twist!
Bring your own blankets, cushions, and camping-chairs and join us on our outdoor adventure at one of the most beautiful and historic landmarks in the UK. Come prepared for the weather – the performance will continue come rain come shine!
