Day School: Roman Dorset
When? 11 November 2023
Where? Dorset Museum & Art Gallery - Dorchester
Dorset is rich in Roman remains, with the county town having its origins as Durnovaria and the landscape during the Roman period shaped by roads, settlements, and villas. Recent years have seen numerous excavations, finds, and research on old sites and collections.
The aim of this day school is to provide an update from some of that work and explore how our understanding of the Roman period in Dorset is changing, reshaping how we understand both the urban archaeology and the surrounding Roman countryside.
Tickets:
Standard | £40
Members of DNHAS | £35
Students | £25
Tickets include refreshments and a buffet lunch, and a chance to explore the Museum during breaks and at lunchtime.
