Ringwood will celebrate the Queen's Platinum Jubilee over the four-day UK bank holiday weekend.
The bank holiday will provide an opportunity for communities and people throughout the United Kingdom to come together to celebrate the historic milestone.
Ringwood Town Council will be hosting two events- the lighting of a Jubilee Beacon on Thursday 2nd June, and a celebratory 'Party in the Park' on Sunday 5th June (scroll down for more info!). Lots of other events are taking place across the town including:
Thursday 2nd June – Listen to music through the ages of the Queen’s reign in the Furlong Shopping Centre courtyard from Jodie Elms & guitarist Mike Relf – 12 noon – 2pm.
Friday 3rd June – From 1:30pm, Greyfriars Community Centre will be hosting a garden party with afternoon tea and live music on the lawn. The Furlong Shopping Centre have a performance from the children from Stagecoach Ringwood at 10.30am – 11am and then relaxed classical music from Avon Valley Concerts from noon – 2pm.
Saturday 4th June – Scarlett Swing will perform a mixture of 40s, 50s and 60s classics and some modern vintage songs in the Furlong courtyard. 10.30am – 11.15am (set 1) and 11.30am – 12.15pm (set 2).
5th June - Party in the Park.
Our big celebratory event takes place at Carvers Recreation Ground from midday to 6pm. This is a day for the whole community to come together. Bring a picnic blanket and enjoy the live music, family entertainment, food and drink.
