The Charmouth Heritage Coast Centre is celebrating it’s 40th Anniversary and we’d love to invite you all to join us!

Keep Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th of October free for a weekend full of events for all to commemorate an incredible four decades of our work along the coast. Be sure to keep your eyes open as we’re visited by dinosaurs and Mary Anning throughout the weekend.

Please visit our website for a map of the event locations.

Free entry in both halls
Saturday 26th October
Visit the Charmouth Community Hall, 10am-4pm, for our annual Craft Fayre.
Peruse the local crafts on offer, including handmade pottery, jewellery, paintings, home baked cakes and produce, and much, much more!

We will also be joined by local fossil collectors and the RSPB running stalls and selling their wares.

Don’t forget to enter our raffle for your chance to win one of our generously donated prizes!

We will also be in the Charmouth Village Hall, 10am-2pm, for a variety of exhibitions and activities.
The Charmouth Local History Society will be running an exhibition of the Charmouth Heritage Coast Centre and the Old Factory Building through the ages.

Join Darrell Wakelam for a book signing for “Art Shaped” and some arts and crafts throughout the day!

Create some treasure boxes to store your amazing discoveries and take your chances in our fossil lucky dip!

Clean Jurassic Coast will be joining us with activities to get us thinking about keeping our shores clean.

Refreshments will be available throughout the day, from 10am-2pm in the Village Hall, and 2pm-4pm for cream teas in the Community Hall.

Saturday 26th October 7pm
Reserve your space for a talk by Dr. Paul Davis on “Old Fossils & New Discoveries” in the Charmouth Community Hall.
Refreshments and a brief talk by Terry Sweeney on the inception of the Charmouth Heritage Coast Centre will follow.

Places are open to members and non-members for free by reservation only, donations are accepted.

Reservations opening shortly.

Sunday 27th October
Come help out with our Big 40th Beach Clean along the beaches of Charmouth from 10am!
We are being joined by Clean Jurassic Coast and the National Coastwatch Institute for our anniversary beach clean.

Help keep our beaches litter free and also take the chance to find some coastline treasures in our scavenger hunt.

If you’re lucky you might even find a mermaid for a storytelling session afterwards!
