Award-winning Theatre 2000 returns with another hit musical by Andrew Lloyd Webber. Evita won an Olivier when it was first seen in London in 1978 and was the first British musical to win a Best Musical Tony Award when it opened on Broadway the following year. Telling the turbulent story of Argentine political leader Eva Perón, it helped make a star of Elaine Paige and was to star Madonna and Antonio Banderas in the 1996 film. Its many hit songs include Don’t Cry For Me Argentina.
