WOW Presents Oliver!

WOW’s award-winning group is thrilled to present the 2009 West End version of Oliver! This musical adaptation of the classic Dickens novel features some of the most memorable characters and songs ever to hit the stage.

The streets of Victorian England come to life as Oliver, a hungry orphan in a workhouse, becomes the neglected apprentice of an undertaker. Oliver escapes to London and finds acceptance amongst a group of pickpockets led by the elderly Fagin. When Oliver is captured for a theft that he did not commit, the benevolent victim, Mr. Brownlow takes him in. Fearing the safety of his hideout, Fagin employs the sinister Bill Sikes and the sympathetic Nancy to kidnap him back, threatening Oliver’s chances of discovering the true love of a family.

For over 40 years WOW has been entertaining audiences with performances of the highest quality. This has been recognised by the receipt of many awards, including Best Youth Production for the whole southwest region.

WOW is a registered charity and all proceeds from ticket sales support its work with young people in the Weymouth area.
