Reveal - Portland & Weymouth Towns of Culture 2025 is a celebration of the vibrant cultural scene in Portland and Weymouth. Showcasing the rich tapestry of artistic expression, local talent, and diverse events that define the two towns. Join in, exploring the unique stories, traditions, and creativity that make Portland and Weymouth the cultural gems of 2025.
What to expect!
Thanks to funding from the Arts Development Company, Portland and Weymouth will see a host of events popping up throughout the two towns over 2025, providing visitors and locals with entertainment throughout the year.

Portland & Weymouth Towns of Culture: Autumn/Winter Reveal Programme
As 2025 draws to a close, the Towns of Culture team are rolling out a varied programme of events, exhibitions and activities for the autumn and winter. Here’s what’s coming up:

Portland Advent(ure) – Destination Opera & Ed Viney with Voices Unbound
A living advent calendar of 12 pop-up performances of theatre and opera in surprising locations across Portland this December, from cafés and sailing centres to pubs and cliff tops. -
YULE BE MERRY – Brave Bold Drama with Dorset Abilities Group & Dorset Family Information Service
A festive street theatre and family-friendly show this December at Saint Nic's, Weymouth, blending improvised comedy with pay-what-you-can performances. -
The Other Life I Lead – Diverse City & Coastland College
A three-day music residency (8–10 October) amplifying the voices of young queer and disabled people. -
Bankfest – Bank of Dreams & Nightmares with Dorset schools
A youth writing festival at Weymouth Pavilion (13–15 October) exploring literature, identity and wellbeing. -
Six Go to the Seaside – Saint Nics Gallery
A photography exhibition on Weymouth’s identity (7–10 November). -
Under the Stars – Friends of Rodwell
A community stargazing night at Sandsfoot Gardens (29 November), produced by Claudia Webb. -
The Final Journey – Antje Rook with Weymouth Grief Café
An exhibition and community project (November–December) exploring death, grief and remembrance, including the installation of a “Wind Phone” on Portland. -
Weymouth Tudors at Christmas – Weymouth Area Development Trust
A Tudor-style festive celebration in December at Tudor House Museum, with re-enactments, crafts and music.
From stargazing nights to Tudor celebrations, pop-up opera to youth festivals, this season’s Reveal line-up offers something for everyone, we will share more on these exciting events as we receive more information.
