Weymouth Harbour - RNLI Tribute Mural
Next time you stroll along Weymouth's beautiful old harbour, be sure to look up and see the striking new RNLI mural that's almost complete. Painted on the side of Custom House Cafe, Custom House Quay.
After huge efforts from the RNLI fundraising team along with donations from local events such as Summerfest, the RNLI mural is a coming to life. The mural creation is in the safe hands of local visual artist Peter Sheridan, and features Weymouth’s Ernest and Mabel lifeboat. Not only is this a great tribute to the good work of the RNLI, it is also an eyecatching attraction for Weymouth harbour and yet another reason to visit Weymouth.
The RNLI have said the Weymouth mural will help mark the organisation's 200th anniversary, and is perfectly positioned almost directly opposite the RNLI shop, and the lifeboat station is not far away. The mural will be officially unveiled at midday Sunday 4th May.
Weymouth's lifeboat station is one of the busiest on the south coast learn more about it here.
