Torchlight Procession & West Bay Fireworks

When? 17 August 2025
Where? West Bay

  • Torchlight Procession & West Bay Fireworks

The Torchlight Procession will be on Sunday 17th August 2025 (torches from 6.30pm) procession 9.00 pm, from Bucky Doo Square, ending up with band on the beach and fireworks at West Bay. PLEASE NOTE THIS EVENT MAY BE RECORDED.

At 6.30pm people start to arrive to ensure they get their torches (we sold out last year!) for this increasingly popular spectacular!
At 9.00 pm at Bucky Doo Square the Mayors’ torch is lit, then he lights those next to him, and so it follows on, cascading through the procession, looking magical. Practical as well, as it ensures that the torch will last all the way to West Bay!
The procession slowly snakes its way down to West Bay, where the torches are thrown onto the bonfire, and people celebrate with a drink and some (more) food.
There will be popular local bands to keep the mood going until around 10.00pm when the fireworks display will capture everyone’s attention, then back to dancing the night away.
