The Harold Cordell Memorial Show

Local entertainer and charity show organiser Harold Cordell had a long association with the Pavilion Theatre, his annual variety and Old Time Music Hall shows from 1972 to 2007 raised money for local and national charities. In 1986 and again in 1989 he had royal guests of honour attend his shows.

His first Pavilion show was in 1968, and that same year he compered the Sunday night professional summer season shows at the Pavilion introducing such stars as Dick Emery, Ray Alan and Arthur English.

Harold's annual show became the longest running amateur Music Hall in a 1,000-seater theatre in the country and he also became known throughout Dorset and beyond as a children's entertainer and ventriloquist, performing an act featuring some half a dozen ventriloquial figures including Sunshine the horse!

Harold passed away in January following three years of living with vascular dementia and alzheimers. This special memorial show, in aid of local charities, will be a fitting tribute of song, dance, music, and memories, featuring The Decadettes, The Weymouth School of Ballet and Theatre Arts, The Pearlies, Damaris Fowler, Anna-Maria Geare, Paul Velya and Cathy Page.
