Standing With Giants: Falklands Tribute.
This November, Nothe Fort will host a truly powerful and moving exhibition. From 5th to 30th November 2025, visitors are invited to experience Standing With Giants: Falklands Tribute, open Wednesdays to Sundays, 10am to 3pm.

The Falklands Tribute represents 255 silhouetted life-size figures of Seafarers, Royal Marines, Army, and Airmen and 3 civilians who lost their lives during the 1982 war on The Falkland Islands with Argentina. This and an identical display created which is currently in the Falkland Islands, were created to commemorate the 40th anniversary of liberation on June 14th, 2022, and have been seen on display at Thoresby Park, International Bomber Command and Royal armouries Fort Nelson. These figures will be on display in and around the Fort’s Parade Ground, for visitors to walk amongst and reflect in remembrance.
Set against the historic backdrop of Nothe Fort’s Parade Ground, the figures will be arranged for visitors to walk among, offering a poignant space to pause, reflect, and remember.

Standing With Giants, the Oxfordshire-based charity behind the exhibition, is renowned for its large-scale remembrance art installations crafted entirely from recycled materials. Their mission is simple yet profound: to honour the fallen, to remind us of the value of freedom, and to create spaces where communities can come together in remembrance.

Founder and community artist Dan Barton shared:
“Standing With Giants have been overwhelmed by the amazing reactions from Veterans and families of the fallen who visit the installations and share their heartfelt stories with us.”

Nothe Fort’s Events Coordinator, Connie Jenkins-Teague, added:
“Nothe Fort is honoured to host Standing With Giants: Falklands Tribute. We have been moved by the support from community groups who have come forward to help install, sponsor, and steward this exhibition.

Our Parade Ground is the perfect environment for this installation, and we look forward to welcoming visitors as they walk among the silhouettes and take a moment to reflect.”
