Dorchester Pubs & Restaurants

A wonderful restaurant meal can turn a good day out into something even more memorable. When you have shopped all day or visited some of Dorchester’s fascinating visitor attractions then it’s time to sit down and relax over a delicious meal.

Dorchester is fortunate in having several long-established and well-regarded restaurants, and their owners have worked hard to build up their loyal local following. Included in these are restaurants that offer the popular flavours of Thailand, India and Italy, and with an excellent selection of dishes on the menus there’s always something new to try.

During the day a quick snack, coffee or speciality tea can be enjoyed either in a contemporary cafe or perhaps in a tearoom within a historic building – the past and present are never far apart yet they sit comfortably together in this bustling town centre.

Look out for local produce and the Fair Trade teas and coffees that are a feature of many menus; and why not indulge yourself with a delicious slice of cake or a cream tea to complement your drink.

Freshly caught crab and hand-dived scallops that are delivered from the nearby coastal towns are further not-to-be-missed treats. Round off your meal with a plate of cheese that may include the famous Dorset Blue Vinny or one of the unique cheeses from the many Dorset cheesemongers.

Brewery Square is the place to head for an evening of food and fun. With a wide choice of popular chain restaurants it’s become a favourite location for foodies of all ages. Try a glass of Dorset gin to whet your appetite – there are several locally-made brands available and they are a real tonic!

Take time out to discover Dorchester restaurants, where you’ll find a warm welcome and something to suit all tastes and pockets.
