Dorset, you’ll need to hold on to your hats for this fabulous festival!

Ascot has nothing on this beaut of a hat-themed weekend in Bridport. Originally starting in 2009 as a low-key bit of charitable fun, Bridport Hat Festival has now grown to be an important and spectacular event in the town’s busy calendar.

‘Haturday’ is the big day! Estimates of the number of hats vary but it’s thought to be between 5 and 10 thousand be-hatted folk! There will be pop-up bands and street entertainment throughout the town and hat-related talks in the morning and afternoon at the Bull Hotel.

A programme and map of events will be available across town nearer the day, but you can keep up to date with Festival information at www.bridporthatfest.org or via Facebook and Twitter (@BridportHatFest).

As Dr Seuss’ Cat in the Hat says: “Why fit in when you were born to stand out?” – Here with Bridport Hat Festival you have the perfect chance to do just that, so get creating and join in the fun!
