On a remote Welsh island, eccentric lottery winner Charles dreams of reuniting his favourite folk duo, McGwyer & Mortimer. He invites the estranged musicians - Herb and Nell - for a private concert, hoping to rekindle their magic. But as old tensions resurface and unexpected truths emerge, Charles's dream gig becomes a bittersweet journey of nostalgia, healing, and second chances. Featuring the comedic genius of Tim Key and Tom Basden with the ever-luminous Carey Mulligan, THE BALLAD OF WALLIS ISLAND is irresistibly charming, laugh-out-loud funny and brimming with original music, including performances from the cast.
